Principal Investigator

Leonard Ng Wei Tat

Assistant Professor ยท Cluster Director, ERI@N

Leonard leads the NGenuity Lab and is a Cluster Director at the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N). He is the Deputy Director of NTU’s AI for Materials Initiative and a Principal Investigator on Proteins4Singapore at TUMCREATE. He read Political Science at SMU (BSocSc, 2011), Polymers and Colorants at Leeds (MSc, 2015), and Engineering at Cambridge (PhD, 2019, with Tawfique Hasan at the Cambridge Graphene Centre), and completed an MS in Computer Science at Georgia Tech in 2025. Before NTU he held a Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellowship and built a deep-tech spin-out from Cambridge. His research compresses the materials-development cycle from years to days using self-driving labs.
